‘Can Democracy be Rehabilitated?’ 1st Sakuradakai Lecture series of the Centennial Project

On Janurary 13, Sakuradakai Foundation and Keio University co-hosted a lecture by John Dunn, Emeritus Professor at Cambridge University titled ‘Can Democracy be Rehabilitated?’ at the north hall of Keio University’s Mita campus. Prior to the lecture, greetings were given by Kohei Itoh, President of Keio University, Katsuhiko Masuda, President of Sakuradakai and Julia Longbottom, British Ambassodor to Japan. The powerful lecture lasting about one hour was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Ken Tsutsumibayashi, professor of Keio University, featuring three panelists: Masataka Yasutake, professor of Kansai University, Yuko Kasuya, professor of Keio University and Kensuke Takayasu, professor of Waseda University along with Professor John Dunn. Lively exchanges of opinions continued throughout Q/A until the end of the event.
